Through a Request for Proposals process, the City of Portland, Oregon, and the Portland Development Commission have selected a qualified development team for redevelopment of the Centennial Mills riverfront site. The selected team is Lab Holding, LLC of Costa Mesa, California. Acquired by the City and PDC in 2000 for open space redevelopment, Centennial Mills is a 4.75-acre site comprised of twelve distinct buildings constructed between 1910 and 1940, and is prominently situated in the heart of Portland’s metropolitan area on the Willamette River adjacent to the Pearl District, the city’s most dynamic neighborhood. The site offers an exciting and singular opportunity to create a riverfront landmark in Portland, Oregon, while preserving a unique piece of the city’s history. Lab Holding's SEED proposal would preserve the site's historic fabric with a focus on Portland's culinary eateries and entrepreneurs as part of celebrating the local environment and the site's agricultural heritage.
